Reiki
Reiki is like a delicious wave of harmony and healing washing over you. This Japanese healing art is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on method of energy transfer from practitioner to client, harmonizing and optimizing body, mind and soul. The term comes from two Japanese words, “Rei,” meaning “universal,”, and “Ki,” meaning “life force energy.” Reiki works on different levels - the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - enhancing absolutely every aspect of our lives.

Life force is responsive to our thoughts or feelings, and can become disrupted and diminished by negative thoughts or feelings, especially about ourselves. If this energy is low we are at greater risk of becoming sick or stressed. If our life force energy is high we are more likely to be happy and healthy. Reiki provides a positive boost of “ki,” which raises the energy field’s vibratory level in and around the negatively affected areas of the body. In so doing, Reiki helps restore the healthy, natural flow of a person’s life force.

I offer both in-person and remote energy work.
Benefits of Reiki
While healing does not equal curing, energy work has been reported to help:

• Reduce chronic fatigue & insomnia
• Assist with emotional distress & sorrow
• Improve digestion & bodily functions
• Reduce aches & pains including headaches
• Improve healing & injury recovery
• Boost confidence & creativity
• Assist with palliative care relief & emotional support
• Reduce overall stress levels
• Achieve greater spiritual connection

By helping maintain a state inner peace and harmony, and of physical and emotional balance, Reiki addresses current issues while also helping to prevent problems from developing. The experience of a Reiki treatment is unique for every individual, but the feeling of deep relaxation during and after a treatment is universal.
Treatment
In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows through the practitioner's hands to the client while they lie, fully clothed, on a massage table. Treatments may also be given while the client is seated or standing depending on individual needs. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or near the client’s body in a series of hand positions around the head and shoulders, arms, torso, legs, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the client's needs.

Each position is held as long as I intuitively feel it needs to be held for maximum benefit. A session feels like a glowing, soothing radiance is flowing through and around you and clients usually enter a wonderful state of peace and relaxation.

*Energy work is equally effective when done remotely.
